European Champions!

The Italian National Anthem echoed clear during the second round of the European Championship in Varennes and the Title is green for the third year running. This French week-end, gave our Marco Ardigò the KF1 Continental Title; with two races left, we centred the target thanks to an unforgettable victories poker. After the two wonderful victories in Ugento, we twice stood out in France, in both races we reached the first and the second step of the podium. On the occasion of the Open Master our drivers got important results, winning the Title with some races left; this occurred in the European Championship, too, where they conquered the victory even before the last meeting. The week-end started with a hard work of kart setting up on the fast Allier track. The long straight stretches and the big bends, which characterize the French track, require some tricks, which allow the drivers to get the greatest advantage from the technical material, whose value was excellent as always. Starting from the free practices on Thursday, all our drivers proved to own the right pace to aim at the success, especially Marco Ardigò and Gary Catt gained very quick lap times. The proof that that our Racing Team is considered as the reference team, was the fact that our drivers were marked during all the qualifying practice. On a track, where the wakes are very important, our Gary and Marco had some difficulties to race a lap without being disturbed by the other rivals and, at the end of the two qualifying sessions, Gary Catt gained the fourth time in 53”366 and Marco Ardigò the seventh. Also the other drivers of our Team reached the high levels of the rating and the optimism clearly reigned in the whole Racing Team, aware that the karts are always perfect. In the first heat Gary Catt smoothly won the manche, Marco made a little mistake and started an excellent recovery, from the 18th to the eleventh position in a few laps. The second heat was still in green colour, this time Marco won the race and Gary had a slight inconvenience which penalized him. At the starting light of the race-1 Ardigò and Catt, respectively sprang from the eighth and the fourteenth position, they took the first bend, a real bottleneck, and they gained the two highest steps of the podium! Both our drivers showed to have perfect performances and an excellent smoothness in their recoveries. Ardigò overtook Varutti brilliantly, from the outside of the first bend and then he stood out and took the lead after a short pursuit of the Kosmic driver, Bollingtoft.

The second race, with our guys monopolizing the first row, was a lone drive at the head of the race, the only emotions we could attend to were during a fight between them started at the seventh lap. Gary, with a fantastic gap, determined and correct, took the lead, but the victory ambition for our English driver disappeared the lap after. Marco, as a real Champion, retook the leadership and the last laps were a wonderful flight forward the Third European Championship running. Our Racing Team definitively gained the absolute victory, gaining also two best laps in both the races.
